It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Lillian Byrne announce her passing on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 74. She leaves to mourn her husband David Byrne of 54 years, at Long Term Care, daughters: Pansy Lee (Harold), Betty Wayson (Kevin) and Tracy Greene (Darren), 6 grandchildren Marvin Lee (Angie), Matthew Wayson (Nicole), Cindi Lee (Mike), Jeremy Lee (Joanna), Marlee Wayson (Shane) and Dawson Greene; great grandchildren Colby and Logan Lee, Landon Pottle and Hannah Jane Childs, Brooklyn, Brody and Jenny Wayson; brothers and sisters Maxwell Strickland, Gerald Strickland, Cassie Sheppard (Sam), Junior Strickland (Rose) Doreen Wheeler, Hazel Batt (Raymond), Bernice Joyce (Warren), Jerome Strickland (Marilyn), Robert Strickland (Wanda), Lyndon Strickland (Lisa). Brothers and sisters-in-law Tom & Alva Byrne, Maisie Kendell, Dorothy Byrne, Doris Byrne, Ross & Marie Byrne, Hazel & Ron Weibe, Annie & Doug Duffney, Kathleen and Eric Sheppard,Lynn & Harlan Cross, Ben & Cathy Byrne, Gord Byrne & Colleen, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Elizabeth Strickland, brother Melvin Strickland, brothers-in-law Bernard Wheeler, Gerald, Ivan & Brian Byrne, Henry Kendell, mother & father-in-law Mark and Margaret Byrne, special caregivers Pamela Murrin and June Vincent. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Fillatre's Funeral Home 218 Curling Street Saturday from 1:00 - 3:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 3:00 pm with Reverend Roberta Woodman officiating, interment will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.
