Lirette, Sr. Thérèse
1928-2016
Sister Thérèse Lirette, ndsc, in religion Sr. Marie-Thérèse d’Avila, of Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Moncton, passed away following a short illness on Friday June 24, 2016 at the convent where she resided. She was 87 and in her 68th year of her religious life. Born September 29, 1928 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Angéline (Arsenault) Lirette.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by one brother, Henri (Cécile) of Moncton; one sister-in-law, Adèle Lirette (late Aurèle) of Moncton, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by six sisters: Jeanne Dupuis, Florida Dupuis, Yvonne Doyon, Sr. Florence Lirette, Anita Hébert, and Alice Gallant; three brothers: Léo, Walter, and Aurèle.
Sister Lirette will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavillion of the Maison-mère, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) on Sunday from 2 to 9 pm and on Monday from 9 am until the funeral mass. Solemn Vespers will be held on Sunday evening at 7 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday June 27, 2016 in the Maison-mère chapel at 10 am. Interment will be in Memramcook. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
