ELLERKER, GORDON LEE CHARLES
Gordon Lee Charles Ellerker passed away on June 26, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in London, Ontario, he was the son of the late Charles and Eva (Smith) Ellerker of Forest, Ontario.

Beloved husband for 61 years of Suzanne (Young) Ellerker; loving father of Douglas Ellerker and Jane (Gary) Caines; grandfather of Ryan Ellerker, Erin (Neil) Jeffrey and Liam Caines and great grandfather of Jamie Jeffrey. His is also survived by his sister Marion (Richard) Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother and sister–in–law, Bob and Trudy Young of Sarnia, Ontario.

For ten years, Gordon was employed by the Canadian Oil Refinery in Corunna, Ontario followed by thirteen years with the Co–operators Insurance Company in both Sarnia and Guelph. In 1975, Gordon and his family relocated to Saint John where he was the Manager of Kent General Insurance Corporation. He continued in insurance with The Citadel as the Assistant Vice–President (Maritimes) until his retirement in 1998. Gordon chose the hobby of stained glass and marketed his crafts for many years at the Original Farmers Market, Kinston Penninsula.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634–7424). Following Gordon’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Dr. John Crawford officiating. The interment will take place at Beechwood Cemetery, Forest, Ontario, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
