It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ann Marie McIntyre at the age of 70 years in Calgary, Alberta, where she had resided for the last 34 years.

She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her lifelong partner Jane MacFarlane, children Ann Coughlan-Green (Michael), Christine (Coughlan) Wright (David), Paula (Coughlan) Boudreau (Rob), Harold Coughlan (Carrie), David Coughlan (Heather) and step-son Tom MacFarlane (Lorraine), 15 grandchildren. Sisters Mary Lou (McIntyre) Cormier, Geraldine Mahoney (Sean), Twyla Knox (Hazen), Sheila Harrison (David), and brother Jim, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Geraldine (Keleher) and J. A. (Peter) McIntyre, brother Peter and step-son Patrick MacFarlane.

Ann was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, attended Simonds Regional High School and graduated from Modern Business College. She started playing sports as a young child, including badminton, basketball, hockey and her most favourite – baseball. She was a very creative person and loved to work with leather and wood, and also loved to draw and paint. “Annie” as she was referred to by her friends worked very hard for her community in Calgary.

In respect of Annie’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Ann Marie will be cremated and will reside at home with Jane.

If you would like to make donations to a charity in her name, please contribute to the Arthritis Society of Canada, which she suffered with for many years, or to a charity of your choice.
