PICKARD, CHARLES EDGAR

The death of Charles Edgar Pickard of Scotch Settlement occurred on July 1st, 2016 at the Hospice House in Fredericton. Born November 23rd, 1929, he was the son of Frank Whitman Pickard and Margaret (Edgar) Picard.

Charles was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was born in Scotch Settlement and moved with his family to Keswick where he farmed from 2006 to retirement. He then returned to Scotch Settlement where he and his sister, Katherine, shared a home until her passing in 2011.

Those close to Charles wish to thank the staff of Wauklehegan Manor, staff and doctors of the Oromocto Public Hospital and the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for their kindness and compassion. A special thank you also goes out to the staff, doctors and volunteers of Hospice Fredericton who went above and beyond in their care for Charles, the love he received was exceptional and will never be forgotten.

There will be no visitation by Charles request. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, July 5th, 2016 at 3:00 pm at the Pickard-Merrithew Cemetery with Rev. Merrill Slipp officiating. A reception will be held in the Keswick Ridge United Church immediately following the service. For those who wish, donations in memory of Charles may be made to Hospice Fredericton or Pickard-Merrithew Cemetery. McAdam's Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. www.mcadamsfh.com
