Roberta Francis Sanderson
September 30, 1964 – July 2, 2016
Roberta Sanderson was tragically taken from us on July 2nd, 2016. Roberta was born in Ingersoll, Ontario on September 30, 1964. Roberta was the second eldest of six siblings and the daughter of Doug and Veronica Sanderson. Roberta was a wonderful person who loved her family, her friends, and her animals above all else. Even as a child she was compassionate, always bringing her animals that, more often than not, ‘followed her home’. She also took care of farm animals over the years and always did her best to keep them happy. Her favorite among these were horses, which she cared for and loved deeply. Despite the struggles life provided, Roberta always persevered with hope and determination. Despite the difficulties, she started a family and had two children, Zack and Torra. Even when the times got tough, Roberta was always looking out for others and putting their happiness before her own, going above and beyond the call of duty to make sure everyone around her was happy. Everything she did, she did for other people. The entire reason she became a plumber was to keep her family safe. For twenty years she stuck with her craft and did her absolute best to be the best that she could be. With her sheer effort alone, she earned the respect and adoration of her peers up until the very end. Roberta was an extraordinary person who will forever be missed by all she was connected to -- her children, her siblings, and everyone who looked to her as a light in their life and a role model. Roberta leaves behind her partner Chris Thalheimer; her children Zack and Torra Merrick; her siblings Jenny (Dercel) Sanderson and their children Douglas (Patrick) Kurjata, Kenny Allan and Jackie (Michael) Allan, Dax Bali, Helen (Lawrence) Jenkins and their children Billy Sanderson, Jessica Sanderson and her children Emily, Porche, Cole and Austin, Anthony (Donna-Lynn) Jenkins and their daughter Rayna, Chantal Jenkins, Kingsley Sanderson and his son Nathan, Verena (Wayne) Black and their children Wayne Black Jr. and his son Dax, Courtney (Christopher) Black, Briley Pelletier, and Zandra Sanderson and her children Alexandra (Jamie) Lalonde, Veronica Lalonde and Tyler Lalonde. Roberta was predeceased by her parents Doug and Veronica (Nowacki) Sanderson and a niece Traci Lynn Sanderson. Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Plaza 88 (former Co-op Store), 888 Central Avenue, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Sherry Ouellette. Private Family Interment will be held. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Melfort SPCA, PO Box 189, Melfort, SK S0E 1A0.
