Randall “Randy” Stanley Riley
1962-2016
Randy passed away Friday, July 15th at the age of 53, with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina. He is predeceased by his father James “Jim” Riley. He is survived by his wife Alison Mitchell, two sons Aiden and Chase of Regina, mother Mary of Moose Jaw, Mary “Mae” (Keith) Stenseth of Moose Jaw, Edith (Dave) Newstead of Moose Jaw, Brenda (Ward) Dokken of Edmonton, William (Crystal) of Calgary, James “Jamie” (Shelly) of Moose Jaw, Darrel of Moose Jaw, Lucille (Mark) Gilliland of Moose Jaw, Ronald of Moose Jaw, and Steven (Jacqueline) of Moose Jaw, as well as numerous other family and friends. He attended Prince Arthur School, and graduated from A.E. Peacock Collegiate, where he played football and developed his welding skills. Randy worked for Reiman Railroad Contractors in the 1980’s cleaning up train wrecks. Randy attended SIAST (Kelsey Campus) in Saskatoon, becoming a Journeyman Welder. Randy was a member of good standing in the Ironworkers Union, Local 771, where he served as a General Foreman. Randy was a standout player with the Moose Jaw Rugby Club, even competing internationally in Hawaii. Randy also showcased his good looks in the 1980’s through professional modelling gigs. Randy boxed competitively out of the Regina Boxing Club for several years. Randy loved the outdoors, hunting, and his dogs. He loved to hotrod his vehicles, especially his Harley Davidson motorcycle. His two boys were the highlight of his life, and his sense of humour never failed. He touched the lives of countless souls and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A Funeral Service will take place at W.J. Jones and Son Funeral Chapel, Tuesday July 19th at 2pm. Reverend Doug Hallman will officiate. Interment to take place at a later date. Memorial Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, Regina, SK. In living memory of Randy, a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
