BURBIDGE, Richard Warren. Richard was born on November 10, 1932 in Windsor, Hants Co. He was the son of the late Thomas and Grace (Cleveland) Burbidge (Richard was very dedicated to his mother). He passed away very peacefully in the Hants Community Hospital in the early morning of July 17, 2016. Before his passing, he had many friends and relatives stop by while he was in the hospital to let him know how much they cared about him and missed him. Richard lived in Windsor most of his life. He attended the Windsor United Baptist Church and was a caretaker for the church for over 30 years, just as his father before him. He had a passion for art in his early years, but in later years he enjoyed the “get together” sessions of his friends down at the local Tim Horton’s. He was a lover of music – the “Crooners”: Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Perry Como, just to name a few, they were his favorites, not to mention Elvis Presley! He enjoyed watching good westerns, some of the old TV series comedies – he just liked to watch TV!! He also loved his cats, Mums and Poppy. He will be sadly and greatly missed by all those who knew him. Richard is survived by his sister, Constance “Connie” Barker; niece, Sandra Burbidge; and loving and loyal friend of 16 years, Carole Morehouse. He has also many other nieces and nephews with their families. Richard was predeceased by brothers, James “Jim”, Harold “Turtle” and Laurie; sisters, Dorothy “Dot” O’Neil, Eva Matthews, Irene and Jean. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). No visitation by family request. A funeral service celebrating Richard’s life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Rob Heffernan and Rev. Dr. John Bartol officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Donations in memory of Richard may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
