It is with great sadness that we, the family, regret to announce the passing of Winston Hill, Point Edward on July 17, 2016, at home, age 75. One day short of his 76 birthday.
Winston was a longtime employee of LeVattes Construction. He enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, playing cards and being undefeated in a game of checkers. In his younger years he played baseball, hockey, boxing and professional football.
Left to mourn are his children, Leslie (Lester Mc Guigan), Point Edward, David, High River, Alta., Paula (Paul MacDonald), Frenchvale and Jamie, Sydney; grandchildren, Rosie, Breanna, Cody and Starla, also two great-grandchildren.
Winston is also survived by his siblings, Wilburn (Shirley), Nelson (Helen), Frank (Shelley), Douglas ,Velma, Isabel, Marilyn (Chuck), Leona (Bernie) Lorraine (Diane) and Catherine. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Besides his mother, Pauline Hill, Winston was predeceased by siblings, Raymond, Lillian and Joyce.
Winston was a kind sole and a hard worker. He will be remembered for his story telling and whitty sense of humour.
Visitation for Winston will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016, from 12-2 p.m.in the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
