DeVILLER, Ervin Jerry – age 90, of Pinkney’s Point, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late William and Lena (Deveau) DeViller. He was predeceased by his wife Gertrude (Saulnier) DeViller. Ervin was a lobster fisherman and when he gave up fishing he worked at Allan Surette’s boat shed until he retired. He loved to garden and cut and split his own wood for the winter. He is survived by his son Roy (Gail) DeViller, Pinkney’s Point; daughter Delilah (Wayne) King, Mt Uniacke; four grandchildren, Jessica (Dave) Demille, Amy (Mike) Wilson, Darcie (Richard) Doucette and Ian (Sarah) King, and five great grandchildren, Hilary and Adam Demille, Audrey and Ada Doucette and Ryan Wilson. He is survived by brothers Wallace (Florene) DeViller, Plymouth; Larry (Pauline) DeViller, Little River Harbour; Ernie (Connie) DeViller, Melbourne; sisters Addie Doucette, Pinkney’s Point; Genevieve Allan, Ontario; Mathilde Dugas, Church Point and Corrine (Vernon) Jacquard, Wedgeport. He was predeceased by brothers Lawrence, Stanley, Howard and Frank and by sisters Celina Frizzel and Evangeline Saulnier; half-brothers William DeViller Jr., Edmond DeViller, Adolphe Deveau and Albany Deveau; half-sisters Jeanette Aquary and Rita Ryan. Visitation took place from 2-4 and 7-9 on Sunday, July 31 with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. Funeral mass was held Monday, August 1 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Melbourne, Msgr. Gerald LeBlanc officiated. Interment followed at St. Raphael’s Cemetery, Pinkney’s Point. Donations in memory of Ervin may be made to Saint Raphael’s Cemetery or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
