Tania (Tatiana) Borchert (nee Mozalevsky) born March 13, 1929 in Harbin, China, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in the early hours of August 4, 2016 at the Hilltop House in Squamish, British Columbia. She is predeceased by her husband, Hans Borchert (1928- 1993). She is survived by her three sons, George, Paul, John and their wives and her grandchildren: Christopher, Timmia, Mylene, Stephanie, Cedric, Jennifer, Andrew, Gordon, Kirin, Kai, and Sara.

Born into the White Russian community of Harbin, North China to her father, Ivan Mozalevsky, Civilian General and Physician, and her mother Varvara Skorobogatova.

Following the Second World War, she moved with her mother to Edmonton in 1956. She received early recognition as a young poetess and maintained a life long love of poetry. Upon arrival in Vancouver she would work as a nurse at St. Paul's Hospital. It was at the Stanley Park Tennis Courts where she would meet her husband Hans. A location that remained dear to her heart and would host many happy days and memories with friends and family.

Tania had a generous heart and as an immigrant herself, she was quick to help settle new immigrants upon their arrival to Vancouver. She was a long time parishioner of the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 6th, 2016 at 710 Campbell Avenue, Vancouver, British Columbia. Her body will be laid to rest with her husband Hans Herman Borchert and her mother Varvara Skorobogatova at the Mountain View Cemetery.
