It is with heavy hearts that we the family of the late Ardelle (Sal) H. Scully announce her passing of Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Northwood Nursing Home, Halifax, NS. Born in Charlottetown on January 11, 1924, she was the daughter of the late William and Victoria Somers. Beside her parents she was also predeceased by her late husband Gerard T. Scully, whom she married in 1943 which afforded 48 blessed years of marriage, after which moving to Halifax to begin their family but never forgetting their roots returned to Prince Edward Island every summer. Sal was also predeceased by sisters Helen, Gladys and Theresa. Leaving behind with fond and loving memories are children Geraldine (Yvan) Morin, Allan (Beverly), Peggy Ann (Vecdi) Kizilirmakli, Sean (Salina), grandchildren Phillip, Mark, Brittnee, Jason, David, Melaine, Craig, Ayshe, Eren, Adin along with eight great grandchildren, seven sisters and one brother. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care and keeping of Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home where the family will be accepting visitors on Wednesday, August 10 from 7 - 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, August 11, at 3 p.m. from St. James Roman Catholic Church, Georgetown, followed by interment in the parish cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial donations may donate to Northwood Nursing Home or a charity of donors choice. Sal was a member of St. Stephens Parish, Halifax. She volunteered in various church organizations, her passion being the Children of Mary. She loved to dance, sing and lifelong hobbies were knitting, sewing, and baking.
