BRIAN MCPHERSON

BRIAN MCPHERSON

Passed on: August 10th, 2016

On August 10th, we lost a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend after a short battle with cancer. Brian passed away peacefully at home with his family and friends around him. Brian was a very kind, sweet and loving man, always ready with a good joke. He loved his wife of 41 years, his three sons and daughter in-law. The apple of his eye was his two beautiful granddaughters, who lovingly called him “GawKqua”. He worked at Kitchener Wilmot Hydro in Kitchener, Ont. When he moved back to Cape Breton with his young family, he worked for 29 years at Breton Bay, now Harbour Stone, where he made many friends. He enjoyed all music, rock and roll being his favorite, was also a science fiction buff and a true Trichy at heart, enjoyed walks along the shore and road hockey in his younger days. Brian looked forward to see his special friends in December where they enjoyed good conversation and a glass of wine at the kitchen table. He also enjoyed morning trips to the Army, Navy and Airforce and chase the ace. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Brian is survived by his wife, Rose Marie (Gillis); sons, Tim (Jennifer), Scott and Adam; sisters, Fray (Ray) Hogan, Clorene, Pat (Sandy) White, Alanna Snook (Fabian), Charla McPherson (Spuddy) and Shannan MacDonald (Richard); brothers Blair (Sharon), Bunny (Willena), Timmy, Junior (Donna), Gussie (Cathy), Dino; grandchildren, Aidia Rose and Georgia Lynn as well as many special nieces and nephews; In-laws, Cathy (Fabe) Sudworth, Wayne (Mary) Gillis, Bob (Sue) Gillis, Sherry MacKenzie and Angela (Frank) MacKinnon and special friend, Donna Petrie. Brian is predeceased by his parents, Wilfred “Biff” and Geneie (Oliver) McPherson; sister, Marlene; brothers in-law, George Snook and Bill Jewer. Cremation has taken place. A chapel service will be held on Sunday, August 14 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Leo Penny officiating followed by a luncheon at Army, Navy and Airforce, Smith Street, All are welcome.
