We regret to announce the passing of James Leo Miller, 76, of Sydney Mines, on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney Mines, on March 30, 1940, he was the son of the late George and Angeline (Nearie) Miller. Jimmy worked as a Tunnel man with CSL Niagara for many years and also at Devco. He enjoyed horseracing and was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Elsie June; daughters, Patricia Caldwell and Donna Bowron; sisters, Kay Wagner, Ontario and Yvonne Lamb. He is also survived by grandchildren, Sean (Brittanie) and Dustin and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Lexi-Claire and Lily Ann. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Lenny, Blaine and Kevin and son-in-law, Stuart Caldwell. His family would like to thank Drs. Ignacio, Curry and Fuller, the nursing staff at the CBR and the North side Homemakers. A special thank you also to good neighbours and friends, Beth and Jim Livingston. Visitation for James Miller will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, from 7-9 p.m. at the JM Jobes funeral home, 635 Main St, Sydney mines.
