FENWICK – It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Beryl Gertrude MacGillivary, age 81, of Fenwick, NS. Beryl passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
Born in Fenwick, NS, she was a daughter of the late Osborne and Nellie (Smith) Ripley.
Beryl loved to cook, sew and crochet and taught sewing at night school for many years. She always looked forward to time with friends and family, times chatting and sharing, and hopefully a game of Scrabble. Beryl always had a dog in her home and was very devoted to their care.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter Starr (Ian) Black, Sanford, MB; brother Conan (Marie) Ripley and sister Kathleen Ells, both of Fenwick, NS; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Glendon; sisters Hilda Donkin, Elsie Eaton, and Hazel Ripley; brother Wallace.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). In keeping with Beryl's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. A family graveside service will take place at a later date in the Fenwick Cemetery.
