Mr. Keith James Mercer

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Keith James Mercer of Bay Roberts, NL. Keith peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 11th, 2016 at Carbonear General Hospital. Predeceased by his father Mr. James H. Mercer and his brother-in-law Mr. Carl Normore. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Rona (nee Normore), two sons Scott (Nicole) and Kyle, his mother Mrs. Susie Mercer (nee Smith) and a great circle of friends and family. The funeral service was held at St. Mark's Anglican Church in Shearstown on August 15th, 2016 and Keith was laid to rest in St. Mark's Anglican Cemetery, Shearstown. We will never be able to express our appreciation for the caring and support that we received throughout the past months. Sincere thanks to Dr. Laing, Dr. Stuckless and Dr. Cheryl Boone at The Cancer Clinic as well as the nurses and staff at Carbonear General Hospital for their kindness at this difficult time, especially to Darlene Burke for all of her care and compassion throughout Keith's final days. Also thank you to Rev. Evelyn Smith for the beautiful service and friendly support. Another special thank you to Community Health Nurse Michelle Russell who went above and beyond the support she gave Keith and our whole family. Thank you to Dr. Brown, Dr. Efford and staff of the Spaniard's Bay Medical Clinic who went beyond their call of duty over the past eight months to help care for Keith and our whole family. Your support and care will never be forgotten. Special thank you to Frank and Christine Deering and Jim Mercer for being there at our side since day one to help support us and give us strength, and to Lisa and Jim Andrews who took Kyle under their wings as their own. During this time of sorrow we learn how much our family and friends mean to us. Thank you so much for all those who supported us during this difficult time. Your kindness and sympathy at a time when it was much needed will always be remembered.
