It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Margaret “Peggy” Barbara Botterill (nee Snustead) at 91 years of age, Monday, August 29, 2016. Peggy will be remembered for her friendly smile, enjoyment of life especially dancing and singing, her willingness to help, and the friendship she gave to all. Peggy could be seen rain or shine out for her daily walk. Peggy is survived by her son Mark (Dorothy); daughter Connie Casovan (David); grandchildren: Scott (Erin), Kathryn (Grant), Therese and Benjamin (Jennifer); three great-grandchildren: Makenna, Ella and Justice; sister-in-law Fay Botterill of Moose Jaw. Peggy’s passing has also left a void for many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) Botterill; her parents, Oscar and Alfhild Snustead; her brothers, Lester and Clark Snustead; sisters-in-law Betty Snustead and Irene Sherlock; and brothers-in-law, George Sherlock and Jim Botterill. Peggy was born November 24, 1924 on the family farm near Glenside and spent her early years in Strongfield and Moose Jaw. Peggy and Bill were married in Vancouver in 1947 and settled in Moose Jaw
shortly after. Bill was transferred to Sherwood Park in 1971 and they enjoyed many years together in the community. Peggy lived her final years in the Apple Blossom Pioneer Apartments, where she was always ready to volunteer her time with bingos, decorating, socials and dances at Apple Blossom and the Cloverbar Lodge. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Connelly-McKinley, Edmonton South Chapel (4820 Meridan Rd, Edmonton, AB.)
