Doris Evelyn Rushton

It is with deep sadness we, the family of Doris Evelyn (MacKay) Rushton, 82 announce her sudden passing at her home in Amherst on September 5, 2016.
Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Rae and Annie (Lamb) Fage.
Doris had a passion for her flower garden; she also enjoyed skating, swimming and spending time at her cottage. Doris worked at the APRCHH (School for the Deaf) for 27 years, before retiring in 1991.
She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her three daughters, Constance (Stephen) Blum of Amherst, Patsy (Michael) Tuckey of Douglas Harbour, NB and Nancy (Ross) Baxter of Tidnish NS; son David (Debbie) MacKay of Leicester, NS; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, special brother Harold Fage of Amherst, special niece Carol Ferguson of Hastings, NS and several nieces and nephews. three step daughters, Connie Knol of Collingwood NS, Nancy (Jim) Hatton of Moncton NB, and Donna (Richard) Harrison of Springhill NS; three step sons, Gerald (Donna) Rushton, David (Bonnie) Rushton both of Springhill NS and Terry Rushton Of Wolfville, NS., 13 step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Doris was predeceased by her second husband Burton Rushton, her sisters Florence Lyman and Dorothy McManaman; her brothers John, Lyman and Donald Fage.
Family and Friends are invited to a time of visitation on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 7-9pm with funeral service to be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 2 pm with K. Ruth Gamble DLM officiating all to be held at Campbell’s Funeral Home 98 Church St. Amherst.
Interment to take place in Hastings Cemetery.
