It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debbie Lee Gray, 59 on September 5, 2016 at the Moncton Hospital in New Brunswick. Debbie was born in St. John's, NL on November 30, 1956 to the late Mildred (Jones) and Moffat Gray. She was raised in North Sydney, NS, spent many years in Sydney, NS and was most currently living in St. Almo, NB with her partner Gary Smith. Debbie was an amazing mother and grandmother who loved music, animals, gardening, going to yard sales, and spending time at Casinos. Known for her strength, determination, kind heart and wonderful sense of humour, she will forever remain in the hearts of everyone that has ever met her. Debbie is survived by her daughters, Tammy (MacDonald) King and Garry, Heather MacDonald and Jonathan; her four grandchildren, Garrett, Myah, Jayden and Grayson; her brother Moffat (Helen) Gray; her five sisters, Dorothy (Geordie) Bissett, Vivian (George) McLean, Emma (Bruce) Tizzard, Joy Fraser and Diane Smith. There was always a special place in Debbie's heart for her many nieces and nephews and she will be deeply missed by them and her great-nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the nurses at the Moncton Hospital for the excellent treatment she'd received in her final days. "Gentle as the sweet magnolia, strong as steel, her faith and pride, she's an everlasting shoulder, she's the leaning post of life, she hurts deep and when she weeps, she's just as fragile as a child and she's a sparrow when she's broken, but she's an eagle when she flies." Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral. A gathering to Celebrate Debbie's life will be held from 2-4pm on Saturday, September 10 at 179 Marbern St in Howie Center, NS. Donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
