It is with great sadness that the family would like to announce the sudden passing of Lois on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the age of 81. Lois was born in Prince Albert, SK on August 26, 1935. She married Ray Mitchell in 1955 and together they had 4 children. In her earlier years, Lois fostered many children until moving to Alberta with her second husband, Ron Birdsall. They moved to Lacombe in 1981 where Lois was a homemaker until her passing. Lois is lovingly remembered by her children, Marvin Mitchell (Juliette) of Red Deer, AB and his daughter, Hayley Mitchell, of Edmonton, AB; Maureen Duckworth (Mike) of Red Deer, AB and their children, Tyler (Ceara) Duckworth and their son, Judah of Red Deer, AB, Tabitha Duckworth and her daughters, Aftyn and Crimzynn of Red Deer, AB, Stephen (Cathlyn) Duckworth and their son, Gabriel of Red Deer, AB, Justin (Shanna) Duckworth and their daughter, Arrow of 100 Mile House, BC, and Emma Duckworth of Red Deer, AB; Wendy Duckett (Scott Grant) of Lacombe, AB and their children, Adam Mitchell (Jamie Duffy) and their children, Ashlynn, Cohen and Tyron of Joffre, AB, Karmyn Duckett and her children, Madysonn and Kaleb of Red Deer, AB, and Alex (Alesha) Grant and their son Lincoln of Lacombe, AB; Morris Mitchell of Red Deer, AB; sister-in-law, Lillian Rennie of Prince Albert, SK; nieces and nephews, Don (Simone) Rennie, Randy (Janine) Rennie, Bonnie (Emile) Boutin, Cory (Denise) Rennie; many great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Shelly, Laverne & Jan, and their families. Lois was predeceased by her husband, Ron Birdsall (2006); grandson, Robbie Duckworth (2002); parents, Alec and Cora (Harper) Rennie; brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Josie Rennie; brother, Bruce Rennie; and infant twin brothers, Dale & Gale. We would like to thank Dr. LaRue, the ER staff, and Unit 32 of Red Deer Regional Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. At Lois' request there will not be a service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lois’ memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, #101, 6751 – 52 Avenue, Red Deer, AB, T4N 4K8.
