Stephens, Phyllis (nee Green), RN ET, 1939-2016. Phyllis passed away on Sept 8, 2016 in the La Ronge Health Centre after a short battle with lung cancer. She is survived by husband Edward, children Andrea (Garry) Holmes and Richard (Clare), her beloved grandchildren Tyler (Sydney) & Tanis Stephens and Jesse & Carmen Holmes, sister Marjorie Lothian, sister-in-law Evelyn Green, brother-in-law Ricardo Stephens, and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was born to Wilbur and Lucy Green on their farm near Cannington Manor, SK. She attended school at Cannington Manor, Wawota and Luther College in Regina. She graduated from the School of Nursing at Grey Nuns Hospital, Regina in 1960. Phyl and Ed were married in 1961 and moved throughout the province with Ed's careers. She worked as an RN in Borden, Meadow Lake, North Battleford, Saskatoon, Rosetown, Lloydminster, Bengough, Regina and Saskatoon again. In 1984, Phyl obtained her Enterostomal Therapy (ET) training in Harrisburg, PA and worked as an Ostomy & Wound Care Consultant at RUH, Saskatoon, Victoria Hospital, Prince Albert, and the La Ronge Health Center, where she was still working part-time in June 2016 when she became ill. Phyllis was a caring and dedicated nurse and ET, passionate about her work and greatly appreciated by her patients (who often became friends) and coworkers. She was a talented musician, with a beautiful singing voice and the ability to play piano and accordion by ear. Loving and generous with family & friends, she also had a great love for dogs that was enthusiastically reciprocated. Funeral Service will be Thurs, Sept 15th @ 2:00 pm, at St John's Anglican Cathedral, 816 Spadina Cres E, Saskatoon.
