Doreen Mabel Carlson, age 87, of Stewart Valley, SK passed away August 29, 2016 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. The Funeral Service was held at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 2, 2016 from Eastside Church of God with Pastor Kevin Snyder officiating. Mom would be smiling as she was listening to the music sang by Mary Henderson and Bob Jamieson. The Life Tribute was presented by Megan Carlson and Jennie Moen. The Ushers were Corie Lanceleve, Jennie Moen, Megan Carlson, Lyndsy Ford and Karlee Ruf. The Pallbearers were Lee Lanceleve, Aaron Moen, Wade Carlson, Cole Carlson, Brooks Ford, Craig Ruf and Jordan Telke. The Interment Service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Doreen is survived by her children, Mark (Terry) Carlson, Debbie Moen, and Tracy (Kim) Ford; Grandchildren; Wade (Karen), Cole (Danielle), Megan (Jordan), Corie (Lee), Jennie, Aaron (Janet), Lyndsy, Karlee (Craig) and Brooks (Megan); great grandchildren, Hailey, Reid, Ava, Saydee, Cooper, Colter, Charity, Jessie, Kallee, Kase, Bobi, Ky, Mason, Shaye-Lynn, Sawyer and Bo; sisters-in-law; Chis Beckett and Maureen Beckett; cousin Anna Clarke and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; Robert and Edith Beckett; father and mother-in-law; Fritz and Ella Carlson; husband Omer Carlson; son-in-law Michael Moen; brothers Edward Beckett, Alfred Beckett, Ken Beckett and Gordon Beckett. Sisters-in-law; Alice Beckett, Bessie Beckett, Beryl Beckett; nephew Bobby Beckett; niece Carol Harle, Bill and Lola Shuler; cousin Stan Shuler and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, special relatives and friends. Doreen was born on August 31, 1928 in Swift Current. She attended school in Stewart Valley. On October 8, 1948, Doreen married Omer Carlson and they farmed together in the Stewart Valley District. Doreen was a member of the Happy Valley Senior Club and in her spare time she enjoyed curling, reading cooking/baking and dancing. Doreen also welcomed many people into her home and they were also considered as family. Mom's whole life was devoted to her family, her husband, her kids, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the most valuable, important treasures to her and she was always their biggest fan. In her memory, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Dorie's House. Doreen will always be fondly remembered for her kind loving nature.
