Reuben J. Pittman passed away on August 28, 2016 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 80 years. Reuben was born in Williamsport on August 5, 1936 to Mabel and John Pollard and raised by Minnie and Elias Pittman. Reuben married Mae Hancock on November 23, 1955 and together they raised two sons, eight daughters, and a grandson. He leaves to mourn his wife Mae; sons Kirk (Beth), and Bruce (Ruby); grandson Terry (Theresa); daughters Denise (Dorman), Rona (Steve), Lorraine (Ivan), Penney (Freeman), Ada (Naaman), Debbie (Daniel), Viva (Edward), and Elaine (Percy); brothers Paul Ballet, and Peter Ballet; sisters Delphine Cassel, Patsy (Hervine) Strong, and Mercedes House; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Reuben is predeceased by his parents, granddaughter Deidre Adams, his brother Stanley Pollard, and stepsister Mary Dempsey. Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Temple in Roddickton from where the funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 31st with Pastor Benjamin Brown officiating. Interment followed in the New Pentecostal Cemetery. Funeral services were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
