Iver Rude passed away on Sept 6, 2016 at The Meadows, Swift Current, SK. He was born Sept 10, 1927 on the family farm north of Webb, SK. to Casper and (Ingaborg) Emma (Jenson) Rude. He is survived by: his wife Hazel (nee Hayward) Rude; sister Ida Tessem; sister-in-law Esther Rude; his daughter Sylvia (Danny) Nelson, and their 3 sons, Jason (Corinne), granddaughter Ava Nelson, Craig Nelson, Clint Nelson(Candace Woodside); daughter Janice (Blaine) Platzke, and their 2 daughters, Chelsea (Matt), grandson Charlie Woodham, Brittany Platzke; daughter Deb (Tony) Bollinger, and their 2 daughters, Alicia Allison, Ashley Allison (John Moysey), grandchildren Nahanni & River; daughter-in-law Sue (Pat) Moore and children, Renee Rude (Dalton Machan), Tamera Rude, Iver Rude. He is predeceased by: son Darrell Rude, parents Casper & Emma Rude, 3 brothers Elmer (Mae), Ted, & Chris (Donalda), 2 sisters Sophie (Cyril) & Clara (Louis)and various brother & sister-in-laws. Iver grew up on the family farm where he was born. He later attended Blessem and Lloyd schools, and started farming on the family farm shortly thereafter. Iver also had a full time career with Mobil Oil, although grain and cattle farming were his true passion. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting & fishing, camping/tenting, and family picnics. He loved to go out dancing with Hazel, attending all of the community dances, and they were still dancing when they lived at the Pioneer Lodge anytime someone came in to play country music. They enjoyed curling in the mixed league for many years in Webb, SK. A memorial service was held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Parkside Memorial Funeral Home with Kathy Wanner officiating.
