THORN, Robert (Bob) Lawrence
Robert (Bob) Thorn of Moose Jaw, SK (most recently Saskatoon) passed away peacefully on September 16th, 2016 at the age of 78. Bob was born in Castor, Alberta on May 5, 1938. He spent the best years of his life living and working in Moose Jaw. The majority of his career was spent in real estate where he formed many long lasting relationships. He was a kind and gentle man who had an infectious smile. He is predeceased by his wife Shirley. Bob is survived and lovingly remembered by his two sons, Doug (Sharon) of Okanogan Falls, BC and Rob (Mary) of Saskatoon, SK; his five grandchildren, Tara, Kayla (Justin), Sarah (Manuel), Scott, Todd; and his only sister Joan. Thank you to all who were a big part of his life in his latter years while he was still in Moose Jaw. Also a huge thank you to his very special sister-in-law, Judy Ekstrand (predeceased) for her time spent with Bob. We would like to thank the excellent staff at Quality Care Homes (318 Maguire), Samaritan Place and Homestead Senior Care for their wonderful attention to Dad's needs while in Saskatoon in his final years. A Come and Go Celebration will be held from 2:00PM – 4:00PM on Friday, September 23rd, 2016 at the Uptown Cafe in Moose Jaw, with a Tribute at 2:30PM. In lieu of flowers or donations, have a McDonald's ice cream cone and reflect on how sweet of a man he was, just like his favourite treat.
