POTHIER, Clarisse Regina – age 85, Park Street, Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 26, 2016 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born October 14, 1930 in Lower West Pubnico, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Regina (d’Entremont) d’Entremont. Clarisse’s life was spent caring for others through her career as a Registered Nurse, through her active community involvement and throughout her circle of family and friends. She left Pubnico at age 14 to further her education at Collège St-Joseph, NB. She graduated from nursing school in Moncton in the early 1950s and began her career as a nurse in Lynn, Mass. Throughout her career, she also worked in Digby, Halifax and Yarmouth, eventually retiring from Villa St-Joseph-du-Lac. Being a woman of strong faith, she was a member of Saint Ambrose Cathedral parish in Yarmouth where she served with the Catholic Women’s League. Until her health no longer permitted it, she also enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels, Harbourside Lodge and at Villa St-Joseph. Clarisse loved spending time with her family and was especially fond of her grandchildren and the company of her sisters and friends. She pursued many interests and hobbies throughout her lifetime and will be remembered for her wonderful cooking, playing cards with a special group of friends, reading, shopping at Frenchy’s and her steadfast faith and dedication to prayer. She leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years, Rufin H. Pothier, their four children, Marc Pothier, Yarmouth; Denyse (Erryl) Hines, Yarmouth; Michelle (Michael) Grattan, Amherst; Eric Pothier, Grande Paririe, AB and three grandchildren, Nicola, Gina and Matthew. Also surviving are siblings, Ronald d’Entremont, Mariette d’Eon, Rosella d’Entremont, Sr. Lorraine d’Entremont, Anne (Blaise) d’Entremont and Normand (Marcella) d’Entremont. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Floretta d’Entremont and Jeannine Surette. Visitation took place from 7 - 9 p.m., Wednesday, with prayers at 8:00 at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 29 from Saint Ambrose Co-Cathedral, Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolenaars officiated. Interment followed in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Yarmouth. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Donations in memory of Clarisse may be made to the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation (Renal Dialysis Unit).
