DALTON, Robert Leo – age 63, Yarmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 26, 2016 at home. Born October 25, 1952 in Yarmouth, he was a son of Ruth (Tanner) Dalton and the late William “Bill” Dalton. Robert was an active member of the Special Olympics, and enjoyed supporting Yarmouth in softball, bowling, curling, soccer and floor hockey. He could be seen around Yarmouth mowing lawns, and in the evenings was often found at Tim Horton’s laughing with friends over a cup of tea or walking around with his soul mate Iva and dog Theodore. He valued family and friends and his children and grandkids were one of his greatest accomplishments. He was always there to help anyone in need and his selflessness and love for life was displayed throughout the community. Aside form his mother, Robert is survived by his fiancée, Iva Paddock, as well as by his daughters, Sylvia Dalton, Yarnouth, Sarah (Chad) Robicheau, Sluice Point and Tammy (Aaron) Muise, Lower Wedgeport, along with his grandchildren, Abigail, Amelia, Asher, Mason, Sawyer and Haylee. Also surviving are siblings, Richard (Theresa) Dalton, Rose (Frank) Hurlburt, Ralph (Kathy) Dalton, Donnie (Mary) Dalton, Sandra (Brian) Jenkins, Kenny (Sharon) Dalton, Joan McIntosh, Shirley (Doug) Blacklock, Roger (Iona) Dalton and David Dalton. Aside from his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Ronnie Dalton as well as by two granddaughters, Alexis and Audrey. Visitation took place from 7-9 p.m., Thursday at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 30 from the Yarmouth Wesleyan Church, Haley Rd., Yarmouth, Pastor Oral Stewart officiated. Interment will take place at a later date in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Donations in memory of Robert may be made to the Special Olympics.
