The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Souris Hospital on Friday, October 7, 2016 of Melvin Burke of Forest Hill, age 48 years. Beloved husband of Jeannie (nee Ellis). Loving father and friend of Brodie (Amber). Son of Catherine MacKinnon and the late Donald Burke. Remembered by sisters Jennifer (Russell), Yvonne (Jim), Donelda (Wesley) and brother John (Kim); mother-in-law Marjorie (the late Lorne Ellis), brothers-in-law Freddie (Karen), Kimball, Ian and sister-in-law Sylvia. Fondly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and his furry friend Mittens. Resting at the Dr. Roddie Community Center in St. Peter's Bay, for visiting hours on Sunday evening, October 9, 2016, from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral to be held on Monday morning, October 10, 2016, at St. Peter's Bay United Church for funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment in Midgell Cemetery.
