Following a courageous battle with cancer, Dean as she was affectionately known, passed peacefully away at home on October 14, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. A very much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Dean was predeceased by her parents John Hutchings Sr. and Cora Westcott; brothers Archibald, Wilson and John Jr.; sisters Pearl Hutchings, Mary Harris, Mable Boys, Mildred Forbes, Sue Hedderson and Laura Didham. Remaining behind to honour and celebrate her life are her loving husband of 56 years Donald, her children Jeff (Cathy) and Russ, brother Fred (Mary) and sister-in-law Ada (Harve) and the angel of her life granddaughter Rae, as well as a large circle of family and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Matthews and Charlene and all of the staff at the Gander Cancer Clinic. Also a sincere thank you to Greg Banfield and the palliative care team, Fae and Johanne, her home care comforters as well as her friend Anne for enabling Dean to remain home in her final days. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 7-9 pm and Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Martin's Anglican Cathedral, Gander on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 2 pm. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
