Isabel Ann Retzleff (née Turner) passed away on October 5, 2016 at the Kyle District Health Centre at the age of 90 years. Isabel was born June 19, 1926 on the Stewart homestead near Tuberose, SK. to Ruby and Bert Turner. She grew up on the homestead of Joshua and Jemima Turner which continues to be the Family Farm. She attended Peronne School until her family moved to Kyle, SK. where she graduated. In 1947, Isabel married Bill Retzleff. They were blessed with two children; Cheryl Ann and Daryl. Mom’s love of the farm had them moving back and forth winter and summer for several years. Her greatest joy was having family around the farm for all special occasions. She also enjoyed many summers at Clearwater Lake with her grandchildren Hart and Marie-Claire. Isabel and Bill moved to Kyle in their later years and enjoyed watching the grandsons, Billy and Robbie and their buddies play hockey (until they started contact)! Mom’s love of family continued as her grandchildren began bringing her more babies to love. Some of her other passions included: gardening, studying cookbooks, preparing the favourite meal for everyone’s birthday, cooking, harvest and meal preparation and delivery that went with it, a good cup of tea from a china cup, listening to CBC radio (especially if it was a political discussion), reading her Bible and singing alto in the United Church choir for most of 80 years. Isabel is survived by her daughter Cheryl Hirst (Jerry Jenson); son Daryl (Trudy); grandchildren Hart Hirst (Courtney), Marie-Claire Krell (Trent), Billy Retzleff, Robbie (Jessica) Retzleff; great-grandchildren Darrian Craven, Kaitlyn and Conner Krell, Lydia and Damon Retzleff and several nieces and nephews. Isabel was predeceased by the love of her life, husband of 67 years Bill Retzleff; her parents Bert and Ruby Turner; brothers Bob (Sally) and Gordon (Irene); son-in-law Douglas Hirst; niece Sandra Turner and Bill’s brothers and sisters and many special cousins. A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kyle United Church with Mr. Jim MacNaughton officiating.
