LeBLANC, Raymond Joseph “Raymond Carlo” – age 68, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2016 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born June 26, 1948 in Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Rose (Hatfield) LeBlanc. Raymond was retired from Nakile Home for Special Care, where he worked as the maintenance man for a number of years. Aside from being an all-around handyman, in his spare time he used to love playing baseball, softball and hockey. Being an outdoorsman, he also enjoyed hunting, four-wheeling and creating the famous folk-art characters that many people enjoyed as they drove past the marsh near his home. However, Raymond will be remembered most for his love of just having a good time. He is survived by his four loving daughters, Jasmine LeBlanc, Jenna LeBlanc, Sammy LeBlanc (Mike Nickerson) and Tammy LeBlanc (Ryan d’Entremont); step-children, Laurie Muise and Jeremy Muise (Jessica Surette), as well as grandchildren, Kiersten, Caleb, Brody, Sean, Mason and Tomas. Also surviving are his sisters, Frances Cleary, Kentville; Pauline Veinot, Bridgetown; Barbara Boylan, Halifax; Lillian Spidle, Middleton; Jean Bouchard, Quebec; Dorothy LeBlanc, Lower West Pubnico; Beatrice Penney, Yarmouth; Anna LeBlanc, Newfoundland; brothers, Herman LeBlanc, Arcadia; Freddie “Frenchy” LeBlanc, Timberlea; Jerry LeBlanc, Beaver Bank; Michael “Yogi” LeBlanc, Tusket; Flavien LeBlanc, Yarmouth; Billy LeBlanc, Mavillette, as well as Raymond’s friend and former partner, Tina Muise. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Paul, Joseph, Freddie and Victor. Visitation took place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. A celebration of Raymond’s life was held on Thursday, October 27 at Le Club Acadien, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Flowers were welcome. Donations in memory of Raymond may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, MADD Canada (Yarmouth Chapter) or to the Canadian Liver Foundation (NS Chapter).
