Gallant, Eric
Eric passed away peacefully at home, in his sleep, on Monday, October 24, 2016 with his loving wife by his side, at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Bernie for over 57 years; loving father of Yvette Enns (Ken) and Marc (Michelle Purdie); cherished grandfather of Cody (Madison), Taylor, Emma and Jack. He will be lovingly remembered by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Eric was born on September 2, 1931 in Prince Edward Island to Gus and Marie Cecile Gallant. He attended school in Rustico, PEI, and joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a Fire Fighter in 1951. Eric served in Egypt, England, France and Germany, as well as Canada over the course of 43 years; retiring in Moose Jaw in 1994. During their retirement, Eric and Bernie enjoyed travelling and spending time with family and friends. Eric will always be remembered as a kind, quiet, warm, gentle and loving man and we are more than proud to have called him Dad and Grandpa. He was an avid member of the Knights of Columbus, and was very committed at the Church of Our Lady. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughan St, Moose Jaw, SK. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3, would be appreciated.
