Bridget Bartlett

Bridget Bartlett (Kearney) passed peacefully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on September 30th, 2016. Bride was born in Croque, the youngest child of Francis and Catherine Kearney. In September 1951 she married Leo Bartlett of Fortune Arm and together they had twelve children, nineteen grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren. Bride spent most of her life as a devoted wife and mother. In 1972 they relocated to Griquet. Over the years Bride was a second mom to her children’s friends where her door was always open. She was employed at Fishery Products and worked until she retired. In 1991 she joined the St. Lunaire-Griquet Firettes and continued to support it until 2015. Following her retirement she was instrumental in the opening of St. Monica’s Catholic Church and Cemetery in St. Lunaire-Griquet. In 2013 Bride moved into Shirley’s Haven in St. Anthony where she continued to be an active member of her new community. She was predeceased by her husband Leo, children Catherine, Ray, Kate, and Ben. Visitation was held at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in St. Lunaire-Griquet from where the funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 4 with Father Vitus Echedo Chidi officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
