GRANT, Eleanor Louise – age 85 of Yarmouth passed away peacefully on November 1, 2016 at the Meadows Home for Special Care, Yarmouth. Born in Yarmouth on May 9, 1931 she was a daughter to the late Everett and Nina (Christie) Dease. Eleanor was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. She worked at the Yarmouth Cotton Mill before devoting herself to taking care of her family and raising 9 children. In her spare time she enjoyed camping in her younger years and playing BINGO. She is survived by her daughters, Gladys (Roy) LeBlanc, Sherry (George) Berry and Wendy (Wayne) Cottreau; sons, Earl (Bev) Grant, Blake (Sue) Grant, Brian (Bonnie) Grant, David (Sharon) Grant and Sandy (Patty) Grant; grandchildren, George, Elizabeth, Roy; Carleton, Angie; Kendrick, Morgan; Cindy, Jessica; Phillip, Ryan; Gary, Carla, Shaunna; Erin, Ashley, Ryan; Jeremy, Krystal; Shelly and many great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Arnold; son, Arnold and his wife Karen; as well as brothers Jimmy and Earl, sister Julia and stepmother Gladys Dease. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Wednesday November 2, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. in Sweenys Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Robert Gates officiated. Interment followed in Chebogue “Town Point” Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the N.S Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Maple Grove/Yarmouth High Memorial Club to assist with Veterans.
