MARION PATRICIA BARTON (née Little)
November 13th, 1936 – November 1st, 2016

It is with heartfelt sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved Pat (Nan). She was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Maud Little; sister, Mona Little; and brothers-in-law: Joe Jacob, Bill Lake and Bob Lukas. Pat will be lovingly remembered by her husband, best friend and constant companion for over 60 years, Mike; daughter, Candace Setter (Dan Harris) and their children Tiffany, Regan and Riley; son, Jay (Leah) Barton and their children Caitlyn and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Peytan and Dane; her sisters, 7 of the 9 “Little” girls: Shirley, Gayle, Denise, Carole, Sharon, Rita and Diane; and sister-in-law, Barb (Bill) Eagles. Pat was born and raised in Caron, SK. In 1954, she moved to Moose Jaw to work at Joyner’s Department Store. Pat thoroughly enjoyed working at Joyner’s but the policy was that married women could not work there. Since she met the love of her life and planned to marry Mike, she jumped at the job opportunity with SaskTel as a switchboard operator. Within 4 years she became a supervisor. After 10 years of full-time employment, Pat and Mike started a family, so Pat decided to go back to part-time work to focus on raising their kids. The family enjoyed many road trips all over Canada and the US. They especially enjoyed frequent trips to Kimberley, BC to ski. It was in Pat’s 50’s that she decided to don the skis and give it a try herself. She was a natural!! After successfully raising 2 children, in 1981 Pat decided it was time to return to full-time work at the TelMart. Pat fulfilled 10 more years of employment until she retired at the age of 55 in 1991. Mike followed shortly after, retiring in 1992. In 2002, they moved to their cabin on the North Shore of Buffalo Pound Lake and spent 12 wonderful years boating, water-skiing and jet-skiing with their grandchildren. Pat enjoyed many hours sitting on her deck with a fresh cup of coffee and a good book. Pat touched the hearts of everyone who knew her with her strong will and positive attitude. She will be deeply missed. A Celebration of Pat’s Life for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 7th, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Pat’s name may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre c/o Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 7T1. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
