Alma Candrlic, 90 years, formerly of Whitney Pier, Sydney, NS, passed away on November 7, 2016 in Edmonton, AB. Born December 19, 1925, Alma was the daughter of the late Leslie and Jessie Rolfe. Alma will be lovingly remembered by her son, Bruce Candrlic (Stella) of Halifax, NS; five grandchildren, Natalie Mercy (Gord) of Edmonton, AB, Candice Gillis-Garlough (Cory) of Stouffville, ON, Janice Gillis (Rich Serafinchon) of St. Albert, AB, Jennifer Brien (Mike) of Newmarket, ON and Trevor Candrlic (Selena) of Calgary, AB; 13 great-grandchildren, Gillianne, Rebeka, Payton, Tate, Rhys, Jason, Brynne, Ainsley, Matthew, Ethan, Justin, Amy and Ella; sister, Jeannette Liadis (Bill); sister-in-law, Betty-Ann Rolfe and her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Matthew Candrlic; daughters, Natalie Candrlic and Donna Gillis and siblings, John, Andrew, Doug, Bill and Dorothy. Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 18 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Road, Sydney, NS. Interment will be Saturday, November 19 at 10 a.m. in Hardwood Hill Cemetery, 106 Townsend Street, Sydney, NS. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
