With broken hearts we announce the passing of our father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather, Kenneth Mader, on Sunday, November 13, 2016. Born in Sydney on September 17, 1948, he was a son of the late Leroy and Florence (Budden) Mader. Ken enjoyed working as a bus driver with the Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board and was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan. He is survived by his daughter, Jill (Bernie) McIntyre, Reserve; son, Brad (Selena), Edmonton, Alta.; sisters, Carol (Livio) Nicoletti, Dominion, Gail (Rob) Thompson, Halifax and Linda Mader, Calgary, Alta.; twin brother, Ronnie, Sydney and brother, Gerry (Robin), Edmonton, Alta; as well as his grandchildren, Morgan (Robert) Erickson, Mitchell and Madilyn McIntyre, Reserve, Brady and Ella Mader, Edmonton, Alta. and great-grandsons, Matthew and Jacob, Erickson, who were the loves of his life. Ken was predeceased by his wife, Janice and grandson, Matthew Bradley McIntyre in infancy. Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday, November 26 from 1-3 p.m. followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 3 p.m., with Rev. Rosemary Godin officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
