Phyllis A. Laurette, 97 years of age, of Amherst, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. She was a daughter of the late Calvin & Beatrice (Jolly) Lefurgey.
She loved bingo and going to card parties. Phyllis was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother who loved her family.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Laurie Laurette (Deborah LeBlanc) of Amherst; granddaughter, Jennifer Laurette (Allen McAvoy), grandsons, Ralph Laurette (Missa) &, Mike Laurette (Jocelyn), Steven Laurette (Laurie O'Blenis) . great grandchildren, Natasha, Brandon, Celeina, Evelyn; great grandson, Dominic O'Blenis; many nieces and nephews; best friend Mike Shea, good friends, Joe Lefurgey, Noreen Laurette, David & Gloria Lefurgey, Doug and Sharon Mackeen & Shane Copeland.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Laurie; sister, Dorothy Steeves, brothers, Ted, Joe & George.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, N.S. (902-667-8777). No visitation or service by request. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
