Gordon Jamieson

Passed on: November 23rd, 2016

It is with great sadness that we, Pat, Cathy and Mike announce the passing of our beloved father Gordon Patrick Jamieson on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. Dad was born on September 9, 1937 in Brandon, MB. He then came to Swift Current, SK in March of 1958 to pursue his passion for fastball. Wearing #8 for teams like Kurt's Restaurant, Bill & Harv & Harold's Esso his trophies and crests are many. In the winter Dad enjoyed curling and hockey and was a season ticket holder for many years. Dad had a fulfilling career at "The Sun" where lifelong friends were made. The next career he had was "on call Gramps". It was here his grandchildren learnt that because chocolate cake has eggs in it you can have it for breakfast. You can also add your favorite package of Kool-Aid to his bread dough and eat green, red, or orange bread for dinner. If anyone remembers trying to pick up or kick loose glued down loonies on 1st N.E. you probably didn't know that up on the 3rd floor looking out was Dad and his grandchildren. He would also keep them updated on the sports stats while encouraging them on theirs. Alzheimer's then visited Dad and when it became apparent he needed more care he became a resident of the P.R.C.C. and then in September, The Meadows. Proud to call Dad "Grampa" are Derek (Janelle) Larson and their children Cole and Emma Larson of Swift Current; Brennan Larson of Swift Current and Kylee and Sierra Jamieson of Edmonton, AB. Proud to call Gordie her big brother is Fran Wilson of Brandon, MB and he was a very proud and loving uncle to Crystal (Bob) Davidson of St. Cloud, MN, Laura Wilson of Winnipeg, MB, and Jerry-John (Shannon) Stewart of Brandon, MB. Dad was predeceased by his parents Dorothy Mae and Gordon Patrick Jamieson; brother Jerry; sister Ruth Stewart; and his niece Traci Dunn. At Dad's request there will be no service. A family celebration will be held at a later date. The family ask that any donations in his memory may be made to Stars Ambulance 2640 Airport Road Regina, SK S4W 1A3. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
