It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Shirley Fitzgerald on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney with her family by her side.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (McLennan) Walker.
She worked in management positions in the fashion retail industry for many years.
Shirley is survived by her husband, John Fitzgerald; her daughter, Janice Crawford (Stephen Ayer); son, Todd Crawford; her grandson, Scott Crawford; brother, Frank Walker; as well as nieces and nephews. Her loving and generous soul will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Skyler, brothers, David, Fraser and Donald.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
The interment to follow at Hardwood Hill Cemetery, Sydney.
