Thelma A. Jordan

The death occurred surrounded by love and with dignity at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on December 5, 2016, in her 98th year, of Thelma A. Jordan of Murray Harbour and formerly of Georgetown, PEI. Remembered by her loving daughters; Virginia MacLeod (Bruce, deceased), Edith Davey (Alvin, deceased), Carole (Ken) Hynes, Linda (Archie) Gordon, and Glenna (David) Stewart. Survived by sister-in-law Lily White (Arnett, deceased) and family. Lovingly remembered by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, children of the late Cpt. Harold (Noreen) Dicks and the families of the late Bert and Nolt Jordan. Thelma will be missed by her beloved Ruby Rose – her faithful canine friend who will be loved always by Thelma’s family. Predeceased by parents Cpt. Nelson and Myra (Allen) Dicks; husband Everett Jordan; mother-in-law Julia Jordan Cohoon; brothers Little Nelson and Cpt. Harold Dicks; brothers-in-law Bert and Nolt Jordan and sister-in-law Edith MacLeod; and lifetime loving friend Wallace White. Resting at Southern King’s &Queens Funeral Home, Murray River for Memorial service on Saturday, December 10 at 3 p.m. with visitation from 1:30 till time of funeral. Interment later in Murray Harbour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted to the PEI Humane Society or Murray Harbour Cemetery. We, the family, would like to thank her friends who never forgot her – Mary Willoughby, Roger Gillis, Westin Axeworthy – who visited, had a chit-chat and a few candies. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Garden Home, Charlottetown (especially Lorraine Trembly R.N., Liz Taylor RCW and her former roommate Lois Axeworthy; staff of PEI Home, Red Oakes Heights and Valor Hall for their kindness and patience; the EMT’s; staff of emergency and Unit 1 (QEH) who were professional and compassionate in every way. Special thanks to nurses Jennifer, Chansey, Monika, Kendra and doctors Wadden and Kate Ellis, your empathy and competence will always be remembered.
