Allaby: Julia Elizabeth
The family of Julia Allaby are saddened to announce her passing on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Hospice House in Fredericton. We rejoice that she has gone on to her eternal reward. Born Oct 25th, 1928 in Shulie, NS she was the daughter of the late Crandall and Linnie Elza (Ells) Patterson and the wife of the late Ralph E. Allaby.
Deaf at birth, by age 7 she had regained hearing in one ear and was able to start school. Julia met Ralph at the tender age of 15 and by sixteen they had married and soon after started their family. Over the course of their 49-year marriage they lived in Joggins, NS, Midland, NB, Lorneville, NB, Saint John, NB, and Keswick Ridge, NB. Julia was a member of and had been a long-time treasurer for the Mactaquac Baptist Church, She loved to quilt, garden and was a devoted Toronto Maple Leaf fan. She was a Dominion Life member of the Canadian Women`s Missionary Society.
Julia is survived by her children; Cheryl Bamford (James), Roger Allaby, Arthur Allaby (Patricia) and Marilyn Allaby (Peter Donovan). Grandchildren, Anne Sommerfeld (Albert), Andrew Allaby (Tanya), Ryan Allaby (Amon), Michael Allaby (Emily), Erin Allaby (James), Joseph Goos (Courtney), Rebecca (Goos) Blakeney, Step grandchildren Angela and Bobby Bamford. Great Grandchildren, Noah, Robin, Benjamin and Samuel Sommerfeld, Eve Allaby, Paige and Quinn Allaby, Samuel and Connor Allaby, Ace Goos and Charlie Blakeney. Step Great Grandchildren, Kyle Bamford and Nathan Montroy. Brothers; Crandall, Alder and Bobby Patterson. Brother-in-law Bill Fox and many, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her Parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter-in-law Joy Allaby, sisters, Dolly Hebert, Alice Weeks, Lula Fage Ripley, and Berlynn Fox. Brothers, Brenton, Crandall, and Stanley Patterson.
Resting at Bishops Funeral home, visitation will be held on Sunday December 11, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9, Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday December 12, 2016 at 11AM with Pastor Linda Perrin officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Grandsons, Andrew, Michael, Ryan Allaby, Joseph Goos, Granddaughters Erin Allaby and Rebecca Blakeney.
Following a reception, interment will be held in the Midland Cemetery, Midland, NB. Memorial tributes can be made to Midland Cemetery, Hospice House Fredericton, Green Hill Lake Camp, or a charity of the donor’s choice. www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
