Marcel was born September 12, 1947 and attended school at Cadillac School. He married Delores Giesbrecht on May 16, 1970, in Swift Current SK. They had 3 girls, Shauna on May 15, 1970, Dana on November 2, 1973 and Natalie on January 16, 1976. Marcel was employed as a grader operator, grain buyer in Dollard SK, farmed as a side passion, and drove semi hauling grain. Marcel was also the owner and mechanic for Marcel's Repair in Cadillac. He was a volunteer fire chief for Cadillac for a number of years. Marcel also drove the bus for the Cadillac Cougars hockey team for a number of years. Marcel's kids and grandkids were most important to him. His grandkids lovingly called him "Papa". Marcel played sports including goalie in hockey, catcher in baseball, and was also a referee for a number of years. Marcel had many interests but his passion was mechanics, with a special talent of being able to diagnose many issues over the phone. Slick met people as customers and they became friends. You would find him at coffee row at the Husky a couple times a day, and you could get his opinion whether or not you asked for it! Family and friends meant the world to him. Under his "gruff" exterior was a huge heart of gold; he would do anything for anyone.
