Nathan William Doyle
Born: June 23rd, 1996
Passed on: December 8th, 2016
With great sadness, we, the family and friends of Nathan Doyle, announce his passing on Thursday, December 8, 2016. Born in Sydney Mines on June 23, 1996, he was the eldest son of Peter Doyle and the late Janet (Power) Doyle and brother to Christopher. While death is never easy, this tragedy is accentuated by his youth. Nathan will always be remembered for his boyish charm and sense of humour. In addition, he will be remembered as a talented athlete. Nathan was an amazing baseball player, having pitched for the Sydney Mines Ramblers at three national tournaments. Anyone who encountered him on the ice would not soon forget him as he was also a very competitive hockey player with the Sydney Mines Vikings. In his spare time, he enjoyed sparring with the boxing gloves with his dad and uncle. He loved outdoor activities and on good days could be found hunting with his grandfather or fly and ice fishing with his Dad and brother. Always a bright boy, Nathan had completed high school and was about to begin a plumbing apprenticeship.
Despite his young age Nathan had his share of difficulties in life. He was predeceased by his mom (age 39) to cancer when he was 13 years old and never did recover from that loss. Shortly after that his uncle and aunt, Dave and Donna (Power) McKeough were tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident. Recently, his grandfather Edward Doyle suddenly passed away. These people were very important to Nathan and he mourned these losses with great sadness. Also passing before Nathan's birth were his uncle, Jack Doyle and aunt, Mary Colleen Doyle. Nathan is survived by his father, Peter and step-mother, Darlene (Marchand) Doyle; brother, Christopher; step-brothers, Evan, Jonathan and Colton; grandparents, Nora Doyle, Roy (Theresa) Power and his aunts and uncles, Martin (Sharon) Doyle, Jo-Ellen (Robert) Lyslo, Michael (Susan) Doyle, Paul (Debbie) Doyle, Mary Doyle (Nahman Korem), Teresa (Michael) Lunn, Vincent (Lori) Doyle, Bernie Doyle, Camilla Doyle, Eddy (Shauna) Doyle, Angela (Chris) Burton, Andrew (Shauna) Doyle, David (Diane) Power, Troy (Tammy) Power, Donna Townend and a multitude of cousins who all deeply mourn his loss. Visitation for Nathan Doyle will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. A celebration of Nathan’s life will take place Thursday at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. James Oliver officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nathan’s memory may be made to the Sydney Mines Food Bank. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
May he rest in Peace.
