SAULNIER, Celeste Emily – age 96, Yarmouth, formerly of Abram’s River, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, December 23, 2016 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born July 20, 1920 in Plymouth, Yarmouth Co., she was a daughter of the late Jean Laurie and Julie (Pothier) LeBlanc. Celeste was a homemaker and was a member of the Seniors Kickin’ Country Line Dancers as well as being a member of seniors clubs in Wedgeport and Ste-Anne-du-Ruisseau; she also loved playing cards. She is survived by daughters, Emily (Kenneth) Scott, Arcadia and Elizabeth (Brian) MacKay, Yarmouth; sons, Frank (Norma) Saulnier, Arcadia; Dennis (Bernadine) Saulnier, Abram’s River; Daniel (Barbara) Saulnier, Wedgeport; Theodore “Ted” (Alice) Saulnier, Plymouth; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; a sister, Estella Doucette, Dartmouth, as well as many nieces and nephews Aside from her parents, Celeste was predeceased by her husband, Felix Saulnier, as well as by a daughter, Cecile Saulnier; brothers, Ulysse in infancy, Everette LeBlanc and Israel LeBlanc; a sister, Antoinette “Toni” LeBlanc. Visitation took place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday with prayers at 8 p.m. at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 30 at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, Ste-Anne-du-Ruisseau, Father Albeni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
