OBOROWSKY – Bernard Joseph passed away suddenly from heart complications on December 22, 2016. He will be greatly missed by his two daughters: Angela Sauder and Laura Oborowsky, his three granddaughters, Kendal, Erika and Nico and his two son-in-laws, Darren Sauder and Derek Yee. Bernie left a lasting impression on most people who met him and could be described as someone who would give you the shirt off his back. When he loved, he loved with his whole heart. He had a naturally giving nature. Bernie liked to tell stories. So much so that he would tell the same ones again and again. His passions included music, singing, playing pool, cars, and yard work. No matter where he lived, he always had the greenest and most plush grass on the block. Bernie was born in North Battleford, SK on November 20, 1955 to Peter and Louise Oborowsky. He grew up with his four siblings: Eugene (Eileen) Oborowsky, Mervin (Gloria) Oborowsky, Earl (Cheryl) Oborowsky and Linda (Gerald) Beland. Over a span of many years, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews were born and held a very special place in his heart. During his school years, Bernie met a foreign exchange student from Mexico, Luis Serrato, who would become his lifelong best friend. One of the most precious memories to Bernie and his daughters was traveling to Mexico together and reuniting with the Serrato’s. He later met and married Kathleen Torresan. In 1989, Bernie and Kathy moved to Swift Current and spent many years together raising their family. All who knew him, knew how funny, goofy, kind and creative he could be. A few of his special friends, Keith Dixon, Marnie Senicar and Armande Bourlon have the stories to prove this. He worked hard and valued everything he had but his true treasures were his two daughters and three granddaughters. He will be greatly missed, always loved , and forever in our hearts. As per Bernie’s request, no formal funeral will be held. If you are interested in keeping his memory alive, please do something nice or thoughtful for someone today. This simple gesture would have made him happy. For further information or to sign the family book of condolence, visit www.parksidefuneralhome.com. Arrangements were in care of Parkside Memorial Funeral Home – Ryan Cappelle.
