FORDHAM
We are saddened to announce the passing of Ann Tietje Fordham on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK, following a brief illness. Ann is survived by her daughter Wendy Lee Kelly (Patrick), and her son, Brent William Fordham (Irene), and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband, William (Bill) Selby Fordham, her mother, Margaret (Spark) Ruiter, father, Charles Ruiter and her two brothers, Theo and Henry Ruiter. Ann was born on November 28, 1923, in Pleasantdale, SK. Ann grew up on their family farm with her two brothers, graduating from high school in the Cherry Ridge area, near Nipawin, SK. Ann worked in different positions in the banking business before training for a position in grain seed analysis. During her work in this field, she met and married her husband, Bill, on November 7, 1947. Ann worked part-time for several years at Carr’s Confectionery in Moose Jaw. She also enjoyed curling, bowling, lawn bowling and bridge. Her real passion was duplicate bridge and she was an avid member of the Moose Jaw Duplicate Bridge Club for many years, eventually achieving Master status through numerous successful tournament results. Ann was also a member of the Moose Jaw Chapter of the P.E.O., where she made many friends, and served as treasurer. Although Ann’s lifelong husband, Bill, passed away many years ago, Ann enjoyed her family very much, with countless visits to the home of her daughter, Wendy, in Regina, for holidays, Rider games, and other social events. As she got older and many of the people she knew and spent time with began to pass, we know she missed them dearly, as she will also be dearly missed as a mother and a friend. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Ann’s name can be made to a charity of one’s choice. A memorial service will be held at W. J. Jones and Son Chapel, 1:00PM, on Saturday January 7, 2017. Rev. Tim Ellis will officiate. A private interment will be held at a later date. In living memory of Ann, a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
