It is with profound sadness and broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Our darling Elaine left us on Thursday, December 29, 2016. Born in North Sydney on July 24, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Eve (Roy) MacNeil. Later she met and married Joseph Harvey Wall and they moved to Sydney Mines, where they raised their two children in the home that Harvey built for her. Elaine is survived by her daughter, Sheri Breski (Girard) and son, Shawn Wall; grandchildren, Ashli, Travis, Ryan, Justin (Gina), Brandon and Amanda (Jason). She is also survived by her three precious great-grandsons, Ethan, Colby and Carson. She loved them all dearly. Also surviving are sisters, Mary Witheral, Rosann Gillis, Eva MacNeil, Evelyn MacNeil, Lynn Pottie (Carl) and brother, Roy (Janet). She also leaves behind in-laws, Clevie (John), Christina (Hap), Mary (Farmer); brother-in-law, Frank Wall and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harvey; grandchild, Jordon; brother, Charles MacNeil; brothers-in-law, Howard Gillis, William Witherall; brother-in-law, Johnny Steele; nephew, Danny and her mother and father-in-law, Frank and Vivian Wall.
Cremation has taken place. Elaine’s family will receive visitors on Wednesday, January 4, 2016, at 9 a.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. A celebration of her life will take place at the funeral home at 10 a.m., with Deacon Greg Murphy officiating. A reception will be held at the parish hall, following the service.
