JOHN THOMAS CORNISH
April 11, 1932 – January 1, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Thomas Cornish announces his passing on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 84 years. John was the son of the late James and Gladys Cornish. He was predeceased by his great granddaughter Cynthia Marie Jillett, sister Katie (Ralph) Keeping and brother-in-law Andy Webb. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories, his loving and devoted wife, Irene, of 63 years; children James (Marilyn) Gander, NL; Rosalie (David) Jillett O'Regan's, NL; Jane (Serge) Tremblay Ottawa, ON. He will forever remain in the hearts of his grandchildren, Stephanie (Michael) Port Dalhousie, ON; Darrell (Christine) Winnipeg, MB; Marion (Jeffrey) Kentville, NS; Ryan (Jennifer) Gander, NL; two great grandchildren Samuel Port Dalhousie, ON; Savannah Winnipeg, MB; sister Winnetta Webb (George Pike) Corner Brook, NL; special family friends Sam and Eileen Keeping Port aux Basques, NL and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. Funeral service took place on Tuesday, January 3, 11 am at St. James Anglican Church, Channel, officiated by Rev. Marlene Harvey. Interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one's choice.
