Hayward Lundrigan

Passed on: January 5th, 2017

Age 81 years. Passed peacefully away on Thursday, January 5th, 2017 at the HSC after a courageous battle with dementia. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (nee Winsor), 2003 and brother David Lundrigan. Leaving to mourn his two sons: Stephen, Craig and their spouses Calla Kenny and Tania Nash. Both Calla and Tania were diligent in his care and guardians of his quality of life. Left to mourn are Hayward's two sisters Ruth and Rose along with equally beloved extended family members from the Kenny, Nash and Syvret families, all of which have special places in his life. Lastly his loyal companion Charlie, whom he loved dearly. For this abundance of wonderful people, especially his neighbors and coworkers at Newfoundland Tractor, who shared in Dads life we have no words to describe our gratitude. The Lundrigan Family extends a heartfelt thanks to the caring professionals at the Pleasant View Towers long term care facility as well as the Nurses and Doctors of the HSC. Special thanks and gratitude to the Nurses of 5SB for their compassion, unwavering support and caring during his passing. We are forever grateful that you provided so much to our father when he was in such need. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Memorial service to be held from Barrett's Chapel on Monday January 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with burial at the Anglican Cemetery on Forest Road to follow. No flowers by request. Donations will be gratefully received at the Alzheimer's Society of Newfoundland in his name. The humility, modesty and kindness lost today with Dad's passing, will be missed tenfold by those of us left behind to carry on in his footsteps. For the time he spent making us who we are today, we remain forever grateful. Please visit www.barretts.ca to sign the memorial guest book.
